The Studio


Our intention is to provide a calming, safe, and welcoming space where students can take some time for themselves to breathe, stretch and smile. 


We aim to provide a rejuvenating inspiring environment to enable positive transformation and calm peaceful minds for everyone.

We are grateful to be able to help create this environment for your enjoyment and share the journey with you.

We offer hatha, yin, patanjali, sangyé, iyengar, ashtanga, vinyasa  therapeutic , restorative yoga, and yoga nidra classes.We also offer yoga for healthy backs, yoga therapy and kids and pregnancy yoga. If you don't see what you want on the schedule, send us a message and we'll see what we can do!


The Studio is a cosy with great natural lighting and holds a maximum of 13 people. Situated on the top floor of the building, the studio offers a peaceful environment with a small kitchenette for water or tea.  There is a locker room with changing facilities and toilets the first floor. We have lockers for you to place your valuables in. Please leave all shoes, coats and belongings in the changing rooms.  


Everything is provided for you at the studio.  Our Calyana 6mm studio mats are high density ultra grip mats which are studio grade performance & OEKO-TEX tested and free from harmful substances. We ask you to spray and wipe down your mat after each use ready for the next person.


Yoga mats, blocks, straps & blankets are all provided or you are welcome to bring your own.


We are proud stockists of yogi teas, doTERRA essential oils and the Urban Veda range of skincare. 

Water is complimentary for members at the studio we encourage you to bring a water bottle to class and fill up from our water fountain or buy one of our beautiful Bee Blissful glass water bottles. We have a no disposable cup policy. When the ones existing are gone they are gone. Mugs are available and please help yourself to a free cup of yogi tea, be sure to wash the cup up afterwards.


All levels very welcome. All our instructors are highly qualified and experienced in accommodating all levels in their classes. Please check the schedule for those marked beginners/ intermediate or choose one of our beginners courses to ease yourself in.

Our Teachers
Julia took over at Suffolk Yoga in January 2018. Originally a school teacher she has now been teaching yoga for over 4 years. She studied in Singapore and India and worked for a year as a yoga therapist in Singapore before returning to England last year to set up Yogabirdsuffolk. She is interested in expanding yoga through Suffolk in schools and in the work place as well as in the studio. She teaches hatha, patanjali, yin, kids and pregnancy yoga with a focus on yoga to slow the breath, relax the body, and calm the mind.

Kurt is a qualified Hatha Yoga teacher through (BSY) and has practiced various styles of Yoga from Indonesian forms to Ashtanga over the last 5 years. He greatly believe in the benefits of yoga, the focus & positive direction it can bring to our lives. His  practice is based around a vinyasa flow style of yoga which is dynamic & offers personal challenges, teaching you to work with the breath in harmony with physical movement


Gaye has been ‘living and breathing Yoga’ for over 24 years & has now been teaching for 10 years.  She teaches Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Meditation & Relaxation. With her deep interest in the health of the spine & relieving back pain she studied & qualified in teaching a specialised evidence based course ‘Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs’ which She hasbeen running since 2014.   She qualified in 2005 with The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY), and went on to qualify for the BWY ‘Yoga for Children’ certificate in 2010 &  She is a qualified & registered teacher for ‘Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs’ Institute (YHLB) & listed on The Back Care UK.org register.



Rhiannon  is a BWY trained Yoga instructor and qualified Physiotherapist. Combining a love of yoga with an extensive knowledge of anatomy, Rhiannon offers classes focused on addressing some of the common issues caused by modern day living such as hamstring tightness from prolonged sitting and core strengthening to relive lower back pain. 

Rhiannon was inspired to take up yoga in the jungles of Belize where she lived for 3 years, she has been practicing since 2008 and teaching since 2015. Rhiannon has had the good fortune to be trained by Paul Fox and Tara Fraise whose immense knowledge and inspired teaching has helped her develop into a conscientious and mindful instructor.

Rhiannon is trained in first aid, pitch-side trauma, Acupuncture and massage to name but a few.


Julie has joined the studio recently from London. She offers dynamic Sangyé classes which are dynamic and flowing. She also teaches Iyengar using props and her knowledge to deepen our yoga practice.
